Next Sonic games
So a few sources started to leak some info about the next Sonic games. Some of it was made clear and the rest is foggy rumors and speculations.
It has been said that in addition to the the retail game Sonic Dimensions (unofficial title) a few digital download titles are in development. All we know for now is that the digital games will have their own marchandise (toys, stationary, etc.), and that Sonic could save his friends in order to play with them later (around 10 characters would be available). No new characters will be added in this game (what a relief!). For example, Sonic could help Knuckles during a level and he'd become playable right after this event. Levels should be a bit like Sonic Generations and having different paths through the end. The Nintendo 3DS version is said to be a bit smaller but would contain all characters.
As for Sonic Dimensions (yet again, it is not the official title!), it is a disc game that is currently being developed by Sega with the help of Nintendo (yes, you read right!). The reason would be to help in programming for the new console and make the game to use every aspect of it. The game would then use the Wii U GamePad in a new way and have multiplayer. The game should have graphics and gameplay similar to Sonic Generations and Sonic Colors.
The RUMORED story so far contains a plot a bit similar to Sonic Rush. Dr. Robotnik caused some kind of disruption in the time and space continuum of the world and also split Sonic's soul into multiple personalities differenced by colors. Yellow would be speed, red would be power and so on. An excuse to remove Sonic Colors' aliens and keep different powers for Sonic to use we would guess! But again, it has not been confirmed and the "Dimensions" title has already been invalidated by Mr. Takashi Iizuka himself.
